Precision in every word, across every language.
Healthcare, legal, technical, and community translation for organizations that need it right the first time. Specialist translators, no AI shortcuts. Kansas City based since 2016.
Six specialist service areas
Each area is staffed by translators with direct professional experience, not generalists covering every document type.
Healthcare & Clinical
Patient records, HIPAA-compliant workflows, clinical documentation, informed consent, and patient education materials for hospitals and healthcare providers.
Legal & Compliance
Contracts, regulatory filings, litigation support documents, compliance materials, and legal correspondence for law firms and corporate legal teams.
Technical & Engineering
Operator manuals, technical specifications, engineering reports, safety documentation, and product guides for manufacturing and industrial companies.
Business & Financial
Annual reports, shareholder communications, financial disclosures, investor materials, and corporate documents for public and private companies.
eDiscovery & Forensic
Electronic discovery document translation, court exhibit preparation, forensic document review, and international arbitration support.
Community & Social Services
Government benefit documents, community health materials, non-profit communications, school district materials, and social services documentation.
Kansas City, Missouri
Built for specialist work, not volume contracts.
We started kayaktranslation in 2016 specifically to serve the healthcare and legal sectors in the Kansas City region. Those areas have standards we care about. HIPAA. Legal privilege. Court formatting. The kind of requirements that generic volume agencies cut corners on.
Since then we have expanded into technical, financial, eDiscovery, and community services, always with the same principle: every project goes to a translator who has actual subject knowledge in that area, and every project goes through internal review before it leaves.

Submit & Scope
Send your documents and a project brief through the website. We review the content, confirm the language requirements, and come back with a fixed quote and delivery date within one business day. No open-ended timelines at this stage.
Translate & Review
Your project is assigned to a translator with direct subject-matter experience in the relevant area. A separate reviewer checks the completed translation against the source. For certified documents, we follow all applicable formatting requirements.
Deliver & Follow Up
Files are delivered to your email in the same format you sent, plus a PDF. A seven-day correction window is included at no charge. For certified or notarized projects, we include all required documentation in the delivery package.
In their own words
"We needed Spanish and Somali translations for a new patient intake process. The turnaround was fast, the terminology was consistent across all documents, and they already understood HIPAA requirements without us having to explain it. That saved us a lot of back-and-forth."
"We have technical manuals going out to facilities in Mexico and Colombia. Wrong translations cause safety incidents. kayaktranslation has been our vendor for two years and we have had zero quality issues in that time."
"eDiscovery translation is not something most agencies understand. They do. The team knows what court exhibits look like and what format they need to be in. That matters when you are dealing with international litigation."

Yes. Healthcare projects follow HIPAA-compliant handling procedures throughout. We sign Business Associate Agreements for ongoing healthcare clients on request. Our translators working on medical content hold professional healthcare backgrounds and understand the relevant terminology.
Standard turnaround is 5-7 business days for most projects under 3,000 words. Priority service is 2-4 days and rush is 24-48 hours. Timelines are confirmed before work begins.
eDiscovery refers to the translation of documents produced or collected during the discovery phase of litigation. This includes emails, contracts, corporate records, and digital files.
